You know, I have really been pondering this week, something deep. Wait for it… Why don’t people smile back at you when you smile at them? When you say "good morning" to someone, or ask how they are doing, why do so many people just not respond?!

I don’t get it and honestly don’t understand. It has really become one of my pet peeves and something that I just can’t wrap my head around.

Has life become just so miserable... or have we lost touch with caring for each other, working as a team to get through this thing we call life? Where did we lose our respect and love for each other?

It really saddens my heart to think that society has lost its grasp on kindness and caring for those around us. We are too focused and engaged on the small little boxes (aka, "smart" phones) that we carry around that we don’t open our eyes to the vast world that is around us in the present moment.

Are we really that selfish and self-absorbed that we can't say "good morning"? Is what the small box that we hold in our hand really telling us stuff so important that we can’t live the life we are currently experiencing around us?

Open your eyes people, look at those around you, be mindful, observant. Are the people you see on a daily basis, hurting, struggling, or trying to say “Good Morning” to you?!!!

Geez, please reply back! You may despise or dislike the person saying it, but they took the time to acknowledge you... the least you can do is try and acknowledge them.  It only takes 2 seconds. I am pretty sure you can afford that in your 86,400 seconds that you have been given in a day!

We are all in this rat race together; we are not better or superior to our neighbors. We all experience the same struggles in life, the same emotions, the same challenges in life. Whether you are an astrophysicist or a garbage collector, we all have feelings and emotions that need to be addressed and acknowledged. We are people from all walks of life, but kindness is pretty universal last time I checked.

So, for the love, hold your head up, use the eyes that the Lord blessed you with and care and show respect to those around you. Care a little stronger, love a little deeper, this world is harsh enough not to be mindful and respectful of those around us.

SAY GOOD MORNING with a smile, dang it!!
